hello forensers, is it possible to find the passlock code of an iphone x having only the itunes backup, not encrypted?
i tried
wondershare
elcomsoft
mobiledit forensic
thank you
In non-encrypted backups the keychain is encrypted with a hardware specific key that cannot be broken.
BTW wondershare is not a forensic software
thank you for the reply.
I know that wonderhsare is not forensic, but long time ago it helped me root an android and let me proceed with extracion.
any way to retrieve the passlock code?
we have the phone, the backup and a lot of hope…
there are ways in yes.
hi,
how?
Try Belkasoft Evidence Center. This solution can take a lot from iTunes backups.
@EugeneBelk did you just seriously suggest the passcode for an iPhone X could be found on an iTunes backup if he “tries Belkasoft”?.. because that was the question.
Excuse my distrust on this topic, but I don't believe that the OP can achieve reading the passcode from an iTunes backup using some click-forensics software.
The only on premise solution which works for some device models and for some type of user locks is UFED Premium, available only for law enforcement, but even for this case, you need the device physically and not it's iTunes backup.
As by today, if any click-forensics software can reveal the passcode from an iTunes backup of an iPhone X (or newer), let me know please and I will buy the solution )
