I'm trying to get email from an IPod Touch 2G and haven't had any success with the big name tools. I'm trying the JZ method now. Using the latest multiplatform for ios4 method, the device locks up into a white screen fairly early into the script.

Has anyone encountered the device locking up while attempting to get the filesystem?
these scripts and tools are not publicly available right?
Are you using Linux or Mac scripts?
Official Apple cable? I have noticed that sometimes a cheap cable will cause these sort of problems.
Correct, these tools are not publicly available. They are available through Jonathan's website, and not available to everyone.
The scripts are the MAC based scripts, and I was using the Cellebrite cable. I haven't tried switching cables. Tomorrow I will try the Apple cable and reply back. Hopefully it is just that!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Same results with the official Apple cable. The Multiplatform tool doesn't appear to work with this IPod.
I am sure that I have had success on a similar hardware/software combo.
I suggest trying the Linux based tools. There are occasions where the different platform can make the difference.
The Multiplatform tool does not officially support this device but has been reported to work.
The tools from Jonathan are available to all, its just LE get them free, private pay which is fair enough
