Working on a situation where the iPhone 4 we have is dead…major water damage. Have access to the laptop that the phone was synced to. Is there anyway to pull out any info( sms, mms, contacts) from iTunes.

TIA

Go here

The section on Phone Backup Files contains several tools you may be able to use.

Oxygen Forensic Suite and UFED physical will both parse data from iDevice backups found on a PC/MAC. Depending on the whether or not the backup files are encrypted will dectate how much data is available to be recovered. Usually if the backup is encrypted you can expect media files but not a lot else. Unless of course you provide the password..

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I have access to both UFED physical and Oxygen. I'm going to attempt to pull the backup file and run it thru these.
