Sorry for the delayed response; As for the class, it was the FTK road tour where the instructor (can't recall his name) advised during the class that if an apple device is imaged via FTK imager (E01), this may damage the device. I don't have any spare devices to test his claims, so until then, I will only have to wait until I can find one or post it to FF. If anyone has imaged an Apple product and the product still worked after imaging, please post.

IT has been a while (2+ years), but I remember hearing "rumors" of damaging the iDevice when conducting a physical capture. But after personally processing well over 100 iDevices (primarily iPhones), I have never noticed any sort of damage done to the device.

And like I said, they were rumors with no documentation to be found.

Sounds like a winner Beasleyjt, I would imagine it would be like imaging a flash or ssd drive……
