I have a number of anomolies with some Word documents I am examining. I'm fairly happy with the "Last printed date pre-dates the document created date scenario" as appears to be the case in a number of documents. However, on one document I have a 'Last Printed' date that I am particularly keen to establish the provenance of.
My question is this…….what causes the Last Printed date to be modified? That may seem like a fairly obvious question to ask but in the limited tests I have done I cannot get the Last Printed date to update in the way I would expect. For example, I have a letter that I created on 15/10/07, which I also printed on the same date. Examining the metadata has revealed the Last Printed date as 15/10/2007 (as I would expect). However, if I print the document today, the Last Printed date is not updated to reflect that? Therefore, is the Last Printed date something that can reasonably be relied upon (subject to all the usual caveats about correct system time, time zone etc etc etc) and in what circumstances will it be updated?
Thanks
Mike
