Hi all, i hope this is the right place for this. I have a job assessment in a few weeks for a digital forensics job. and i am doing research to prepare for it.

Im looking to spend some time familiarising myself with the current legislation around the digital forensics job, i know there is a lot so i am trying to narrow it down to the most common and used parts.

so instead of reading the entirety of RIPA, PACE ect i was hoping that somone could just point out the main parts to read in
RIPA
PACE
Computer misuse act (i might actually read all of this)
Child protection act (parts involving making and sharing indecent images)

and any others that might be useful.

Now, before you think 'lazy b****r, just read them all' i am trying to streamline my studying so i can get as much useful info as possible.

Thanks in advance for any help

L

I have identified quite a number of case law and enactments if that would give you a helping start and there are a few you may think are relevant to what you are seeking, but the document is dated and not definitive in its coverage http//trewmte.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/admissibility-of-computer-evidence-in.html

If it also helps the CPS website has ACPO Guidelines that makes reference certain sections of PACE https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/assets/uploads/files/ACPO_guidelines_computer_evidence[1].pdf

There is loads more but no doubt someone else will chip, too.

Good luck with your job assessment.

Apologies everyone, I had inadvertently added a full stop at the end of the first weblink in my response. This has now been corrected and the link now works. Thanks to those who sent message heads up. Greg
