I'm looking for some help creating a forensic image of a Samsung SSD hard drive - one of the SSD drives that looks like a RAM stick. The drive is 128 GB and I've no success with Lenovo tech support about getting a safe boot option (like a MAC in target mode) that would allow me to image without actually booting up the computer. Anyone have suggestions??? Thank you!!!

I'm assuming that you have not been able to connect it to a write blocker due to the connector.

I am basing my understanding of the SSD drive from this tear down http//www.myfixguide.com/manual/lenovo-ideapad-yoga-2-pro-disassembly/

So if the hard drive looks like the one from the tear down

Then you need an mSATA adapter. Here is a link to a Tableau one - https://www.guidancesoftware.com/products/Pages/tableau/products/drive-adapters/tda3-1.aspx

Then you can just use your normal write blocker.

Thank you for the suggestion! The SSD drive has a different connector than mSATA - actually has 3 endpoints. Do you know of any adapter for this kind of interface? Looks like this (sorry - I'm new here and can't figure out how to insert a picture haha)

Samsung MZ-NTE1280

It's a M.2 inrterface
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2

I don't think that any "special" adapter is needed, *any* (example) should do
http//www.amazon.com/DT-119-NGFF-adapter-California-Stock/dp/B00FKCSMYY

You can buy this one
http//www.amazon.com/ZTC-Thunder-Board-Adapter-ZTC-AD001/dp/B00HKV2TVK/ref=pd_sim_147_1/190-3584191-1727461?ie=UTF8&refRID=1HC973C7TAJ6P6W33F3M

for a few bucks more 😯 here

Maybe you could try with the ZTC M.2/mSata Dual SSD to Sata
