Hi everyone, I need some help unlocking a LG Tracfone that we got from an inmate cell.
We have Cellebrite and Paraben DS as our mobile extraction software but neither can unlock this particular phone. I have access to the State Police lab but I'm at their mercy for at least 2-4 months until they even start our case. We've had this case since after Christmas last year and only been able to run a extraction on the SD Card.
We tried
Cellebrite Lock Code Recovery
Generic GSM/CDMA Physical
LG GSM/CDMA Physical
Generic Andriod Disable/Enable User Lock
Anything else I'm missing? I feel like Cellebrite should eat through these types of phones since there so cheap. Has anyone else had any luck? Unfortunately J-Tag or Chipoff isn't an option for us since we don't have any of the equipment or training.
Thanks - Jay
Unlocking The Screen of an LG Android Smartphone with AT Modem Commands
You can use Oxygen Software for it.
The troubles of TracFones. I have never come across this exact model of TracFone. But the other platform I would inquire is MSAB's XRY.
TracFones have a history of being hit or miss. They are extremely proprietary and closed down to basic functions.
Most of the TracFones I received ended up having to be photo documented for all possible screenshots of interest.
Try Compelson's MOBILedit Forensic Express
A single phone license is $99.00 http//
1. First, install the MOBILedit Forensic Connector on the Android phone from Google Play https://
2. Second, make sure the target phone and your forensic workstation are on the same WiFi network.
3. Enter the IP address shown on the phone in the MOBILedit Forensic Connector application into MOBILedit Forensic Express on your forensic workstation running MOBILedit Forensic Express.
4. Perform the collection of call logs, sms messages, etc.
I have successfully used MOBILedit Forensic Express via Wifi to perform collections from Android phones when the USB connector on the phone was either broken or disabled.
I believe, but have not confirmed, that Tracfones in general will not connect nor synchronize with a computer via USB cable, so the Compelson MOBILedit Forensic Express solution at $99.00 is an excellent solution in my opinion.
*** If you are LE, please contact me via PM and I will perform the collection for you at my forensic lab Pro Bono. I can email you the Chain of Custody documentation to ship me the phone if you are not near me in Chicago.
Yeah exactly. I contacted our State Police Lab, they said they don't have Oxygen and they do have an order for XRY coming in soon. They have the 3 new Ufed Touch2 machines that just arrived but that won't work with this case. That Terminal program is new to me that Igor_Michailov posted. I've only been doing this for about a year now and the only training i've been to has been most of the NW3C classes along with the webinars from Magnet and Paraben. Where can I find IDA? I have the Huawei Terminal and can access the modem on the LG phone but most of the commands don't do anything…
Thank you both for your help with this. If we can keep picking this apart that'll be great.
Thanks - Jay
Can you answer what you want to make exactly in this phone ? Contact prove with details
I would prefer getting a Physical of the device if not then a Logical or pin bypass. The inmate isn't gonna give up the pin but we need to know what type of activity he's been doing on the phone and hopefully get any email addresses that he's been using. Do you want me to PM you my contact info?
Few approach in this case - I will send you PM to check
