Live Acqusition Performance

Sean you got me thinking out loud here…on a XP Pro 32 box is there a way to prioritize and tweak certain I/O bus transfers? Probably not because there are to many cooks in the kitchen between, mainboard, OS, drivers, etc.

BTW - on the NAS side…For off the shelf SOHO solutions for a RAID 5 package I can't bring myself to pay $700 a cage with a few hard drives and a pretty label. I recommend taking an old system and using FreeNAS
http//www.freenas.org/ . With a low end controller card (check compatibility list) and some OEM hard drives you can get a NAS up and running quickly and at a reasonable cost. It's cross platform and has some other nice features as well.
