Thank you Phoebe010 for pointing out
"O Reilly Webcast iPhone Forensics 101 Bypassing the iPhone Passcode".

If I'm right this is JZ's video if you need any more proof he's real

I think it sounds more reasonable when you flip it on its head

He's spent time and effort developing these techniques, it's not unreasonable for him to expect renumeration, however out of the goodness of his heart/ moral duty he's allowing LE free access.

But yes, he's real, he's a nice guy, very helpful and the toolset is very nice indeed - but a guy's got to make a living!

Thanks for the replies. Don't get me wrong, it was great that he has done something for free to help law enforcement - nice gesture. I do also appreciate and respect it is his website and he will do what he wishes.

My observations are not in that direction to criticism him personally or his product. There is an important background issue that comes out of the discussion. I, like many others, became aware of this person and his product because of all the free-bee mentions and links-to-buy-at-website that had been given on the free-bee forums which helped his name and product. I just wonder if the community had closed the door on JZ and his iPhone product at the outset would both be around today? Mutual respect of each others value in the marketplace is important to maintain, even if at times it means reminding people what an important commodity that is.

A further point being made is, if this type of approach of closed-shop separatism is not openly questioned then maybe it leads to everyone doing the same thing? Now wouldn't that be a pity.
