I am trying to duplicate a 100GB PATA drive (source drive) onto a 500GB Western Digital PATA drive using a Logicube Talon.

The Talon does not "see" the 500GB destination drive when I select "drives". If I connect the drive to my forensic workstation via write-blocker, it sees it just fine, so it looks like the drive is good (it is brand new too - just took it out of the box). I then tried putting a 100GB drive inside the Talon as the "destination" drive and the Talon sees it, no problem.

Has anyone successfuly used a Talon to copy to a 500GB PATA drive as the destination drive? It almost seems to behave as if the Talon has a size limiation for PATA

Does anyone know if the Talon firmware has a limitation on the size of a PATA destination drive? (Talon does not see if if I connect it as the source drive either)

Jumper on the drive is set to Master (had also tried cable select - both fail)

Not sure about PATA, but it definitely can handle SATA drives to at least 2TB. I've only tried PATA drives to 250gb. Have you got the latest firmware on there? Its fairly easy to upgrade them

That was the issue.

I just checked and our Talon was at 2.40. I flashed it to the current version (2.57) and it can now see the 500GB PATA drive just fine.

Thanks for the suggestion!
