Does anyone know anything about "Logicube's" Cell DEK TEK Kit. It used for examining cell phones. My department is looking to buy this product for examining cell phones, but I haven't heard of anyone using it. It is expensive so maybe that the reason. Before we spend the money I was trying to see if its a good product or if anyone has had experience using it. Any information good or bad is welcome on this product. Also, i'll take any advise on what is the best hardware/software kit for examining cellphones. If you could only buy one what would it be??? D .

Thanks for the response. I was actually looking at Secure View/Data Pilot Kit. It seems like a great product for a resonable price. D

Instead of thinking what software/hardware is "best", look what software covers the makes and models that you get in your area. And accept the fact that no one product covers them all. I think it would be better to buy to mid-priced products that cover 85% of the phones you get than to pay top dollar for something that only covers 60%. Same for the cable/hardware packages.

Also, be aware of any problems between the products. For example, Paraben's Device Seizure does not like to play well with Susteen (DataPilot) Cables.

And take a look at downloading Bitpim. It is Open Source and can at least grab the file system (logically) of most CDMA handsets as a zip file. Load this into FTK Imager and you already have the ability to analyze many phones at no cost. Bitpim is available at http//www.bitpim.org

Hope this helps and good luck.

Two other systems that may be worth considering is the .XRY System from Microsystemation or the UFED device from Cellebrite. Both are capable logical examination systems but as the other guys have said no one tool will do everything and it would be better to identify which systems support the most common devices in your area.
One word of caution when a vendor states it 'supports' a particular device it does not necessarily mean that all the data will be extracted.

I hope this helps
