I don’t do a lot with Apple Mail, but I have an OSX 10.x system in which there are a number of relevant graphics in a path of Users\Joe\Library\Containers\…\Mail Downloads\Desktop\Joe's Pix. I understand is that the Containers path is analogous to Windows Virtual Store and perhaps like a temp or cache folder. So, a user opens an attachment and it’s saved in the Mail Downloads tree automatically. There are relevant graphics are in the user’s “real” Desktop folder in like-named subfolders. Otherwise, all of the subfolders in the Mail Downloads path bear UID names. I haven’t been able to trace any of the relevant files to email in the user’s Apple Mail client, which includes a couple IMAP accounts.

I'd like to determine why the Container tree includes a “Desktop” folder tree with images among all the UID folders. I don’t think that the files in the Mail Downloads\Desktop tree arrived unintentionally. Thanks.
