Anyone know of a way to find out when the built-in Mac wiping utility was run? I have a case where it was probably run, no wiping utilities found on the computer, yet most of the drive is straight 0's, and this is supposedly a heavily used machine.

I don't think you have logs of wipe utility, but you might have log entries about the new wiped disk re-attached, check syslog.
