Good Day all,

just curious of a rumor I have heard of there being issues with getting an accurate MD5 hash on a CD Rom.

is there any truth to this that anyone knows of? if so what is the source of this?

Thanks

I've run some tests that involved creading MD5 and SHA-1 hashes of .jpg images that were burned to CD. In all cases, I didn't run into any problems getting an accurate hash value.

Techmerlin,
The only thing that comes to mind is overburning, or writing outside the normal data area on a cd. Discjuggler used to be able to do it. perhaps some of the tools people are using can't see the entire disk?
