hello i have a problem with my memory stick after using linux. I have used it on windows fine and i thought i was using it on linux fine aswell (red hat). I dismounted the device correctly and i thought that everything was fine. However i've come to use it this morning and its full of random files recorded as having massive file sizes but are infact empty. I cant get access to any of my files on my memory stick and it keeps throwing errors at me when i try and add new files and folders to my stick. I thought this was very random until it finally let me add a blank folder onto the stick which triggered off something that gave me access to some of the files that had dissapeared. I know this seems very random but im sure the files are there somewhere but linux has messed around with the filesystem on the stick. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is going on?

thanks

A thing you may want to try is testdisk
http//www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

From what you say it looks like a corrupted bootsector, or (but I doubt it) if FAT formatted, File Allocation Tables areas.
