This morning I came across the MFC Dongle from FoneFunShop http//www.fonefunshop.co.uk/cable_picker/98560_MFC_Dongle.html

They state that they can crack the passcode for the following devices even if the device is disabled to itunes.
Apple iPhone 4
Apple iPhone 4s
Apple iPhone 5
Apple iPhone 5s
Apple iPhone 5c
iPad
MacBook
Samsung Android based Phones
HTC Android based Phones

On the downside the instructions states that an active SIM card must be in the phone to make a call to the SIM card. However all the videos I have seen using this product seem to skip that step.

Has anyone had any experience in using this product?

The solution is quite simple. I just put my own SIM card from my iPhone into his, waited a few minutes until the time would show up on his iPhone. And voilĂ ! It was working again. It does not need to connect to the provider's network, only detect a 3G network and that's enough to sync the internal clock.

I assume you (like me) are based in the UK and so are following ACPO? I have also been looking at the MFC device and have concerns as to allowing an uncontrolled, external connection due to the risk or remote wiping and data loss.

I believe you are asking the same question as me, can this be done using a "lab SIM" with no network connection or must this be done with a network connection to an MSP?

If the device requires an external connection I assume the MFC dongle is useless in unlocking Wi-Fi only devices like some iPads and iPods?
