Do any of you have problems reading from the mini-SIM Cards (15mm x 25mm), found in some mobile phones, because their size is too small?

There are three sizes specified ISO size (known previously ID-1), plug-in size and mini-SIM size.

I have found a manufacturer who produces the adaptor for these mini-SIM Cards and I shall be getting some samples.

I purchased some of these adaptors from here as I knew I was going to have to butcher my Three SIM Card for use in the iPad when it arrived.

I purchased the adaptors from the website and they arrived pretty quickly ( I think they were shipped from Bulgaria so it may take a little longer for those outside of Europe)

iPad arrived today and I have tested the adaptors with the AT&T Micro-SIM that I removed from the iPad. I took a picture of one of the adaptors with the card inserted, which you can view here.

I think cards will become lose with repeated use, so keep this in mind when using them with your card readers.

For anyone that is still not sure what a Micro-SIM looks like, I took a picture of one on top of a British 1 Penny to give people an idea of scale.

Sorry Eric

I have done some digging around and it looks like a US 1 Cent is roughly the same diameter as a British 1 Penny. The 2 Euro Cent coin is also about the same size as well.

Does this have the same size chip as normal sims? If it does then you might be able to just dismantle an Omnikey wedge it against the contacts.

The contact pad is slightly smaller than a regular SIM Card, however the six contact pads are in the same locations.

I have a desktop OmniKey SIM reader that I picked up from eBay some time ago. I use an adaptor like this with it and I find it much easier to use than the compact reader supplied with XRY.
