I have been examining a Nokia 9210 communicator and found a number of fax messages in the sent folder. I have managed to backup the phone and card memory and after running numerous scripts with ftk encase etc no sign of the fax image files! Any ideas?

Thanks

There exists a 'file manager' that supports this phone. Run from the PC, it allows you to browse all the files on the phone - to include the OS files that the phone's own file browser won't allow you to see. This utility should be able to get to those files, BUT it is not a forensics tool so care must be taken as it can write to the phone if you click the wrong button.

Otherwise, Paraben Cell Seizure should have support for this model. Older version didn't, but I'm pretty sure it was added in the recent (within last year) release.

thanks for the response, I did use the pc-suite and it helped with some data but still ended up photographing the fax list eventually!

also try forensic.mobiledit.com, a special version of mobiledit, very universal and comperhensive.

Mobiledit will soon be supporting Symbian OS phones that are getting very widespread. So check their web.

Barnie

Sorry to rain on your parade but have found mobile edit in the past to not be forensically sound.

Paraben just came out with Cell Seizure 3.0. I have used Paraben’s software for an about a year now and I have used version 3 for about a month. They have made many improvements mainly LG support, GUI and fixed registration and compatibility issues with duel higher end computers. I would recommend Paraben.

Anyone know what software I can use to extract data (call history in particular) from an Audiovox CDM-8200BMS.

If possible, E-mail me at rallan@aritcu.ca, as I don't get to check this forum very often.

Thanx.

XRY had some interesting info at the Techno Forensics Seminar last month. Maybe check them out.

XRY and forensicsim are an excellent combo with mobiledit being a decent second. In line with one of the revious posters I find Paraben's cell seizure to be a little unreliable.
