We use Paraben on a regular basis and I agree it is not always reliable. The phones it supports is limited (Audiovox is not one of them). XRY is being tested by our Research guys, but in the meantime I was hoping to find something that works specifically with Audiovox.

Thanx Again

I received a request concerning extracting photos from an LG 5450 Mobile phone (hardware revison #1.2). This phone has been left unattended (read battery drained) for about 5 months. Does anyone know if the photos will still be stored on the phone, or are they long gone. Yes, I know the obvious answer is charge it up, turn it on, and find out. But I don't have the phone in my possesion yet. Just trying to get a head start until the investigating agency can forward it to me.

Thanx.

Does anyone know the proper terminology Is it Cellular phone forensics, or Mobile phone forensics. In terms of Search Warrants/Court Orders, is there a difference, or are the two terms interchangeable?

Thanx.

Is it Cellular phone forensics, or Mobile phone forensics.

I suppose it depends on the region. Here in Korea they call them Hand Phones. I would tend to think that "Mobile Phone" would have the greatest coverage. If someone was using a satellite phone, it is not cellular, may not fit in a hand, but it is clearly mobile. "Mobile Telecommunication Device" would probably also cover devices such as blackberrys. Warrants can get very tricky, if you make it too specific, you may not be able to seize an item, if it is too broad, the judge may not approve it.

But hey, that's just me, I could be wrong.

hi,

Well in the UK, we use the term Mobile Phone Forensic.
However regarding the terms

Warrants are very specfic, they say who can enter the premises, time and where they can search.

Court Order i think is directed to an individual or a gruop of indivduals to carry out some work.

however i am not 100% sure regarding the terms.

Jamie, I don’t no whether it's just my computer, but when I try to post a link, by using the forum scripts in the post page, it posts the link to the top of the page, within the top banner.
