Jonathon Zdziardski methods and tools are good for most Apple products. For Nokia handsets use flasher boxes to download the phone memory and decode the handset codes.

Please use test handsets to see and learn how the tools work first before using it on exhibits.

Is it iPhone 4 or 4S

Cellebrite UFED supports physical extraction and decoding of locked iPhone/iPad/iPod devices excluding iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (there is no solution yet)

Nokia BB5 (including the N9) physical extraction and decoding (also for locked devices) will soon be added too.

Best regards,
Ron

Depending on which version of iOS the iPhone is running and of whether or not the device is jailbroken (or if you can jailbreak it), Elcomsoft iOS Forensic Toolkit (https://www.elcomsoft.com/eift.html) may be able to break the passcode and/or perform the full physical acquisition of the device.
