I have a computer that has Morpheus installed on it. When I run keyword searches using Encase I get hits on CP terms in the MorphEXE.exe file. This file is located C\ProgramFiles\StreamCast\Morpheus\MorphEXE.exe. This is an executable file which should be a compiled application, how can there be CP terms (in clear text) in this file? There are probably a couple of hundred words in the same location as the CP terms, not all are CP related but they are all similar in nature. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Thanks

One hypothesis (which probably can be tested) is that StreamCast were trying to protect themselves and their users by searching for and blocking CP material being down- or uploaded. Under this hypothesis, what you are seing is part of *their* list of keywords to search for.

Of course, with StreamCast gone, the field is open to counterfeit versions. It looks like Streamcast signed their distributions, so it may be possible to decide if the code you are seeing is original or extended.
