What would be your #1 data acquisition tool? I mean, hardware, like hard disk duplicator or imager.
I am looking for one which would be most cost-effective.
Thanks in advance.
I have a Solo3 and a MD5 in my kit. Solo3 is cool because it can make two copies at once. MD5 seems to work when the Solo3 will not recognize the HDD. The Talon is on my list to try when funds are available.
Greetings,
I'll be doing a review of various hardware imaging devices later this month….

I like my Solo 3 Forensic a lot. Not cheap though. Also have a Tableau T35es e-SATA writeblocker which is pretty good.
Well, anything at under $1000?
Greetings,
The DiskJockey comes in at $800, I think.

The Tableau UltraBlock SATA/IDE for $349, connects via FW400 or FW800 and USB, or the eSATA model for $429.
Tableau TD-1, disk to disk clone or disk to file (dd) weighs in at around the £800 mark.

You're going to address speed as well as correct output, right?
