On a Motorola - has anyone come across the "Subsidy Code" when using a Clone SIM? This is usually for unlocking the handset from a particular network.

Do you have any other method of network isolation (faraday protection) where you can try the original SIM in situe - could it be that the handset is locked to another network from the original SIM?

Is there any branding on the handset to suggest that it's locked to any particular network?

Bob standard grey handset. It came with a SIM which I cloned with CelleBrite and XRY - it asks for the code for both.

I am now thinking of trying some lab sims - Motos are not usually fussy enough to delete anything if the IMSI or ICCID dont match up - are they?

Actually they tend to be fussier than most - some delete SMS as well as calls!

If you have any kind of faraday shielding I'd really suggest trying the original SIM so that you can rule out the possibility of that SIM being "incorrect" in the first place.
