Hello Forum,

I am having 3 different images,

2 of Windows XP sp2, and 1 of Windows Vista SP1,

The above images are created using SOLO-3

I have tried using Mount Image Pro, and I am able to sucessfully mount the 2 XP images,

However the Vista image I am not able to mount it using Mount Image Pro.

Is there any other alternatives, for mounting The Vista Image as a drive letter?

Can anyone please provide some help on this.

Thanks in advance

Have you followed the suggestions in the MIP Knowledgebase?

Harlan Carvey has a bit on his blog about mounting images.

Encase has a module that allows you to mount images. Practical only if you already have Encase.

Smart Mount
*Mount EnCase/Expert Witness (.E01 files), VMWare Disk (.vmdk files), FTK, SMART or dd files locally or over the network.
*Convert EnCase/Expert Witness and .vmdk files to "flat" image files
*Mount password protected EnCase/Expert Witness .E01 files without the password
*Mount file systems from within dd images or Macintosh .dmg images
*Mount file systems from within FTK images

Wasn't that capability licenses from GetData, the folks who made Mount Image Pro?

Smart Mount is going to cost $100 + compared to MIP and for poor Austrlians it may be a bit pricy (our dollar when from 85 to 65cents for $1 US cry

At times in life you often get what you pay for.

Depending upon your objectives, investing in SMART MOUNT may be a no brainer.

If price alone is your deciding factor then look into Linux and the loopback device to mount your image files as there is no direct _financial_ cost.

Cheers!

Yep, agree here also..support for both Windows and Linux versions, you may as well go for both if your budget can stretch. I look forward to watching the development of this product grow also.
