Hello Forum,

I am having 3 different images,

2 of Windows XP sp2, and 1 of Windows Vista SP1,

The above images are created using SOLO-3

I have tried using Mount Image Pro, and I am able to sucessfully mount the 2 XP images,

However the Vista image I am not able to mount it using Mount Image Pro.

Are these dd images? If so, get a Linux box. You can mount dd images in Linux (as noted, ealier), and if need be, you can convert these to .ISO or other images using open source tools.

You can even create a Samba share in Linux and examine the files on your Windows machine.

I wasn't there, but I've heard from a number of folks in attendance at the International HTCIA Conference in Atlantic City last week that ASR Data showed SMART Mount and SAW and that feedback was very positive on both. I use SMART MOUNT almost daily and strongly recommend evaluating it. And if you're acquiring large amounts of data SAW might be of interest.

Cheers!

Well, you do not actually "need" to use Linux.

You can use VDK allright on "dd-like" or RAW images

And of course IMDISK for the partitions, once you have the offset for their bootsector, thus allowing to mount partitions inside "strange" formats that are just RAW images with a header of some kind pre-pended to them.
