Topic starter

Is there a possibility or tool to convert the filename of a message log within MSN (for example buddy12477893665.xml) into an e-mail address?

I try to figure out how to identify the remote user (chat) with whom the conversation took place.

Any help is welcome …

Do a search on here for FBOX or one on the Guidance forums for Windows Live Messenger (the user name you are looking for is Insomnia) and details to obtain are there

In theory it is possible to brute force the PassportID number back to the original email address, but this would take ages and the number is NOT unique. Much easier is to use my tool to extract the contacts. For every contact a PassportID is calculated so you can easily find the specific contact.

You can request the program at forensicbox ]at[ gmail ]dot[ com
It is only released to LE and the forensic community.
