i was looking at the RIFF JTAG actually and noticed that the supported devices list is mostly samsung/HTC oriented, do you know if medusa also has support for motorola?

Cellebrite UFED support the Motorola XT862 for physical extraction with pattern/code lock bypass. This is supported even when the USB debugging is turned off.

So, not just logical is supported, but also file system and physical.

Best regards,
Ron

I don't know this particular model but if you look to taking the JTAG route perhaps look at something along the lines of Medusa Box

It was a suggestion but….

do you know if medusa also has support for motorola?

….it does for a couple mentioned at site http//medusabox.com/eng/features/models

Motorola Motorola MB200, Motorola MB501

Even if Medusa/RIFF/choice of JTAG solution/ does not have "support" for the device you can work communication out.

Remember JTAG is a standard, albeit squirly, it is still a standard.

Only question is, will you be able to find the test points on the PCB, will the devices have JTAG "turned on", or will you have to muck with them even more destructively?

olifer,

You mentioned you are using the UFED device, you should be able to perform a physical of the XT862 bypassing the lock.

Are you using the latest UFED version?
