New Forensic Case Managment Software

I have been a computer forensic examiner for 8 years, both in the public and private sector. I have yet to find a software package that provides a comprehensive case management tool, particularly for the private sector. So, I am working with a couple of software developers to put together a Forensic case management package. I’m looking for constructive input from the computer forensic community on the project and invite anyone with ideas to respond.This is what I have so farThe system will have an SQL-type back end database with a web-based front end; these pieces can both be run from a stand-alone computer or from and internal network over an intranet. The system would include a forensic/e-Discovery case management tool with modules for time tracking, evidence tracking and storage, and invoicing. There would also be a stand-alone portion to allow data entry in the field and then sync that data back at the office.Forensic/e-Discovery case management This would include basic case information, status and contacts associated with a case, investigator(s) assigned, etc.Time Tracking This would provide the ability to track time spent on a case both collectively and per investigator.Evidence Tracking This would provide the ability to track all evidence in the case including storage drives, forensic images, other physical evidence, etc., as well as the ability to print labels, handles dispositions, transfer evidence and other tasks.Invoicing For those who bill clients for their work, this would allow you to take the contact information and time tracking and generate an invoice for clients.Is this software package something you would be interested in?What would you like to see it do (in the areas of case management, time tracking, evidence tracking and invoicing?)Are there any other abilities for this type of software you’d like to see?Mark
