New Member Introduction

Good morning, everyone -

I have been reading and studying about the field of computer forensics and am thoroughly fascinated by it.

I thought I would join this forum and group to expand my horizons and to find out more about this up and coming field.

I am currently an IT professional, but am looking for something more. I remember always wanting to be a private eye. I have worked for lawyers and find the legal field extremely interesting as well.

Can some of you more seasoned folks give me some pointers? For example -

1. Where can I find some online certifications?
2. Which ones are good?
3. Which ones should be avoided?
4. Do any employers offer "on-the-job" training to those of us who are go-getters and a quick study?
5. Where is the highest concentration of computer forensic specialisits?
6. Are there government positions available?
