I've recently installed the following software and since then noticed performance issues with USB lock ups or drop outs, at worst BSOD.
ADB (Android Debug Bridge) developer protocol
ADF 3.8.4.892
Android Logical Extractor (ALE) 1.3
CCCP Codec's 19.10.2015
DCode 4.02.9306
Encase v8.02 / 6.15
FTK Imager 3.4.2.2
Internet Evidence Finder 6.7.3.0370
Ipevo Present V4.1.0.14
IrfanView V3.85 + plug-in
MFT Stampede V1.9
Netanalysis 2.4.16089.10
Notecase 1.9.8
Sanderson Forensic Browser 2.7.8
SQLite Expert Personal 4.0.0
Tableau Disk Monitor V1.2
TomTology2
UFED Reader V5.3.0.2
UFED4PC 5.3.0.731
UFED Physical Analyser 5.3.0.2
Virtual Forensic Computing V3.16.4.28
VMWARE Workstation
Veracrypt 1.16
XRY (FORENSIC PACK - INC XACT) version 6.16.1
Any suggestions on what's compatible and what's not.

WOW, are you looking to adopt anyone into your family?
That's an incredible array of software.
I have found with errors that a lot of times it is multiple drivers which all do the same thing, but are vendor specific.
For example if you have DS and then install Oxygen plus say Katana or something similar, you run into multiple errors and issues.
Try going into msconfig in startup and disabling anything which is starting with the PC. Activate it only as needed.
As far as driver packs go, if you have a working set of drivers IMHO don't install 2 or 3 more sets unless the software just wont work without it.

Armresl – thank you for getting back to me so quickly and the first to respond.
Not to sound insulting, have you any knowledge of the HP Workstation’s? Are you OK to divulge what OS and hardware you have and what it’s used for.
I've been tasked to identify why a particular machine (HP Z820) is giving our High Tec Crime team so many issues, majority of them being USB related and performance.
Hardware
Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2697 v2 @ 2.70GHz (2 processors)
Enabled Processor Count 48
Total Memory 128 GB
SSD Hard drive with Windows 7 64bit OS.
Appreciate any advise
The hardware can be faulty too! No software will change that, please try stress-testing the environment first for stability (memtest, cpu torture, VGA card testing, etc.). Also change SATA cables and power supply!
Another huge problem is the OS itself, let's better not get into it )

Impressive list, but missing, in my opinion, an important segment Software for data acquisition from the Cloud storages (Oxygen Forensic Detective, XRY Cloud, UFED Cloud Analyzer) D
Mreza - Give it time we will all evolve over time.
USB lock ups or drop outs
Worth raising it even though you haven't confirmed your investigation, BUT, I suspect you have already done this anyway

Here is what it would suggest.
1) Pull the hard drive from the machine and put in a new boot drive and install a clean copy of the O/S. Then see if the instability problems remain.
2) For the USB problems make sure the problem isn't related to just 1 port, or 1 cable or 1 device. i.e. test a few different devices on different ports with different cables. I'll also add a shameless plug for our
3) For the BSOD start recording the details.
4) Work out which of your long list of apps is actually running at boot. The fault is more likely to be caused by the ones that run at boot time (as opposed to those that are just sitting on disk not executing). Stop them all running at boot time and see if that helps. Also check for any services & drivers that they installed.
