Hi all very new to the forum and mobile forensics in general,
I have been involved in security for about 6 months, we have looked after yachts travelling through Somalian waters, protected Russian Billionaires oh and Bobby Davro so our experience of
security has been somewhat varied in out brief spell.
Onto the problem, I have been approached by a client who is very security paranoid, every time his guys go out and work in the field they jump in their cars, switch their bluetooth on and proceed to work. The client would like me to do a live demonstration about obtaining information via Bluetooth .
Now i have googled "mobile phone forensics" and see there is a wealth of software out in the domain and my question is two fold
1. I would like to know would it be achievable for myself to do such a demonstration and if so id really appreciate a starting point as apart from anything its a bloody interesting subject.
2. is there somewhere/someone who would be prepared to teach me ??
thanks all for taking the time to read this
Well, start by googling for "bluetooth hijacking" or "bluejacking" (without quotes).
Whether you will be able to put together a meaningful demo greatly depends IMHO on your current level of knowledge (which only you can judge), basically you need some familiarity with Linux and command line and some basic "generic" computer knowledge, and a "hacker" approach/attitude.
Additionally you may need to state an expected budget, professional sniffers are not cheap, though there are free or low cost ways, like
