Anyone managed to perform a PM Read on a Nokia 5230 using SHU-BOX?
Or any other tool?
This is a Symbian device
Do you mean a logical PM read or Absolute PM? (Absolute PM will probably not work).
If you want the logical PM, you can use UFED and select the "Generic PM".
This will probably work.
Note that on Symbian devices logical PM does not contain too much valuable data.

Will this be enough to see the PM tables to access the pass code from decoding?
You will probably find that the lock code is not present in the PM tables for newer Symbian devices. Worth a look though!

Yeah managed to get a cable for shu-box and do a PM Logical but nothing from the tables. Any other suggestions or is it a dead duck?
tririan, Nokia 5230 is a BB5 phone which puts it in the unsupported category of pretty much any non-destructive physical product I know of. You can always do chip off as I don't think the 5230 has chip encryption.
Why not just remove the passcode? This can be done in a non destructive way using HWK, but I suggest you test it first to confirm for yourself.

Never tried it! Have you done it successfully Colin?
Is it the option to "Reset User Locks"?
Is it the option to "Reset User Locks"?
Yeah you would think that is the option wouldn't you? Sadly however it is not.
The option I have used successfully is the 'Full UI Defaults' which resets all user inputted settings, including the handset lock. Bear in mind that this could impact other aspects of things which you may want to examine, or, of course it may not if all you are after is the data and not any configurations/settings etc.
I have used this successfully on an N96 and E71 both of which have retained call logs, SMS and other data.
I suggest that you first test this and then confirm with your OIC/client as there are still obviously risks, and unfortunately these may not be fully identified on a single test handset etc…
Hope this helps
