Hello,
I have received Nokia 5800 for data recovery, which had a security code on it. I have tried JAF, UFSX and MX-Key to reset it but all failed to do so.
I think somebody has tried entering the code before as well. Is there a way I can recover the data?
I have made the PM file and the locations (35, 308 and 120) mentioned to have security code for BB5 are all empty.

Kindly Help me on it.

Regards
Adnan

Are you with Law Enforcement Adnan? Could you contact Nokia and ask them for suggestions? I have read about some default codes somewhere, which I could find for you if you wanted?

You could consider using HWK Suite to reset the user settings to default however I would suggest that you test this on the same make and model before you do it on your evidence.

I have done this on an N96 and N97 without any loss of data however I understand that some models behave in a different way.

Let me know if I can help you any further.

Thanks Coligulus,
I have done that without success.
Can I change the PM file and write it back somehow using HWK?

That would work however who know whats else may get changed as a result. Also, if you are unable to locate the security code in the PM records how do you know what to change?

I will go have a look and see if I have that model here and see what I can come up with.

I have attempted this before on lesser handsets (various iterations of S40 devices, non-evidential) and this only resulted in bricked phones. I would certainly try the suggestion Coligulus made again, we have had success with this on several occasions.

I used UFS flasher and selected all the reset options. I managed to save all the records and the code was reset.
