I am working on a case where the OS is Windows Vista Home. I did not find the key Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSaveMRU, but found ….\OpenSavePIDlMRU.
The information and sub keys look the same as the OpenSaveMRU, but I have not come across this before. I am curious what the PIDl stands for?
I did some research on Google, but I am not really finding anything…
When i googled "OpenSavePIDlMRU" i found specific references to Windows Vista, it also seems to indicate that it contains the last 20 entries for the Common Dialogue (comdlg32).
If you see a change in a system you are unfamiliar with, it is always a good idea to fire up a (Virtual) machine with the same OS, then try to replicate the steps or confirm your hypothesis.
Thanks for the information. I am trying to see if I can replicate the key in a VMWare session. will post what I find out -)
