OSX and deleted users

Hi,

I am looking over a macbook pro (running snow leopard) and the only users listed under \Users is "delete" and "shared". I have found information on Apple's support pages that suggests when a user account is deleted, it is moved to the directory /Users/Deleted Users.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate anything which pertains to my case where only a user named "delete" exists. Does this occur if the "delete immediately" option is selected when removing the account? Is there anyway to go about restoring this account or am I limited to viewing unallocated space?
