I have a situation where an email was allegedly saved as a draft in Outlook (not sure what version) for several months, then actually sent at a later date. Anyone know if it's possible to tell when an Outlook message was originally drafted? We may end up having access to the computer on which the draft was created if that could make a difference. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.
Yes - but the clock is ticking.
I just tested this with Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010; cached mode.
The draft is deleted but contains the initial create date and can be recovered by running a recover on the mailbox or by searching for deleted email if you have the .OST from the machine.
The email in the sent items contains a create date of the time it was sent (from what I've observed), the draft is deleted, but you can recover it from within the PST or from the mailbox dump.
