At present I am developing a commercial application which will be able to automatically detect P2P-applications, WebDisks and UseNet-Clients. Addictionally it will be possible to evaluate some common P2P-databases (eMule, Shareaza, Kazaa,…).

Are there any features you always wished to see in such an application?

Also if someone of you could point me to some archives with P2P-applications, WebDisks or UseNet-Clients I would be very happy.

Cheers )

Here you have a couple of lists with file-sharing apps

Try joining fileshareforensics.org (Law Enforcement only)

@keeper Thanks for your precious hints. As far as I can see most applications listed in the Wikipedia-sources are already supported. I have never heard of fileshareforensics.org but since I am also working for law-enforcement I will give it a try.

Cheers, Andy

There is a free application for law-enforcement called P2P Marshal (http//p2pmarshal.atc-nycorp.com). It's a good start although it just covers a few applications and only runs from the computer you applied the license for.

Greetings,

A request, if I may? Make your tool available to non-LE? There are a lot of us in the corporate world who need tools to develop investigations to get them to the point that LE is interested in them, particularly in these difficult financial times.

@kovar The scanner (PeerLab) will be made available for both law-enforcement and corporations. Most likely even sold at the same price.
