This is some light decision making, not a big forensic investigation -
I am told I must get into the 21st century and get a "real" phone. One that sync with corporate e-mail.
Since I have an issue with closed systems, I prefer not to get a Blackberry.
Since I have seen more tools to code in Linux than Windows, I prefer to go with Android product. It must be Verizon or AT&T. I have a slight preference with Verizon, as it is my current system and I had some not so pleasant ones with AT&T.
So, Verizon (or AT&T), Android, and it must be able to sync with corporate mail. Since all such pads and mobile phones can, I am more interested in a tool that would expand my quick-hands-on software.
I have always had issues with small touch screens.
I already have a cell phone to make and receive calls and SMS.
Price is not a limitation.
What Android mobile phone or pad would you choose?
Well, I guess I am going to upgrade to a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X.
Any suggestions? D
Why not the Droid X? or the Droid Thunderbolt? The Thunderbolt is a very powerful phone. I'll have to look into the Motorola you said you were looking into

If you are interested in that Moto, then this is a great site for you to check out some other options…

On a more serious note, despite being a big android fan I will reluctantly admit that there is a frustrating lack of development into software on the android platform that one could readily conceive as belonging in a security or forensics "at hand" toolset. There is some interesting dev work going on, but it is really still far far behind what's already available on at least two closed systems.
What about the Motorola Xoom tablet (with Android 3)? I believe it is scheduled to be released in the US at the end of the month, although, it may be just the wifi version then with the release of the 3G version later.
Kind regards
Sam
Oh and the Xoom will eventually support 4G!
