Hi Chaps, I've got a 'dead' Nokia N73. its got a Micro SD which acquired OK and this has a backup.arc file on there which I would like to have a look at.
When uncompressing its asking for a password - does anyone know the default?

Best regards,

Jason Coyne.

I have not come across those files before, I shall keep an eye out for them. What sort of information did it hold?

Regards,

Looks to be complete logical backup of phone, I've retrieved MMS,SMS,Cal, Notes, contacts, photos and lots of db's that I've not worked out what they are. helpful as the phones been swimming.

was just a .arc on the microsd, typical unzip tools thought it had a password but the nokisoft app opened it straight away. The demo version only displays first 50 records - so have just paid and am awaiting the reg key (frustratingly it looks like a manual process of issueing the license key and the hearing is tomorrow morning

Nothing like tight deadlines eh!

I wonder if this is a standard Nokia 'Backup' feature on Symbian devices or if it has come from a 3rd party application installed onto the handset.

How does the data come out, a big csv/excel file? Or seperate files for each element?

via the nokisoft application there is either an export to a dir or helpful html expert (per category) which you can then print to pdf and looks ok to present in a rush.
