Password protected hdds are trouble for forensic examiner. They can not be acquired unless the password is removed, which is kept in hdd itself.
During my research, I come across this thing. The advertisement says it can remove password in less than 2 min.
So, have you tried this product before, and if yes could you please share with us does it really work or is it worth tyring?

I have only used PC3000 and have successfully used it to remove SATA Lock drives on dozens of occations
This product was shown at CEIC. It is supposed to be able to perform diagnostic, firmware operations and ATA password removal. I haven't tried it personally so I can't say how good it is.
We too use PC3000 UDMA for this type of task.
Sorry, forgot to post link to the actual product…

I was just looking at the PC3000 UDMA as we have had a couple of password protected drives lately.
Can I ask how much you paid for it, as I can't find a price on the website?
Many thanks,

I don't know I'm afraid and even if I did I don't think I'd be aloud to say, but we have quite alot of them so I don't think it would be refective of a user buying just one. Sorry
A couple of years ago I paid about 3,000 euros, but this did not include the data extractor side, just the hardware element.
Payment has to by bank transfer, no credit cards taken. Tedious, but it worked.
