I was wondering if anyone could help me on this one. I currently have a .zip encrypted file with numerous mail messages. It seems that the messages are also encrypted. When running PRTK, the program could not find any passwords. Could some one please help me with this. I am running a different cracker against this but I am expecting the same results. Thanks

Did you pass PRTK your word list generated during FTK indexing? That can help improve the chance of success beyond a simple dictionary attack.

Adding to what Patrick4n6 said… you can also genereate the password list using PRTK(Biometric if i'm not wrong) and other tools i.e. if you have a rough idea on the set of charcters used.

What format are the messages in .msg/.pst/.eml/.nsf/etc.?

Are they encrypted with their internal encryption or with a third party tool?
