Hi everyone,
As some of you would know that I am doing Masters by research in forensic computing. At the moment I am researching into Mobile Phone Forensics. I need to familiarise myself with phone tapping laws used in the UK, ive been searching on the web but have not come across these laws. I was wondering if anyone could help me and direct me to some literature concering these laws. This will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

I guess RIPA would be a good start
http//
and particularly the Directed Surveillance stuff
http//
also Article 8 Human Rights Act 1998 about the right to privacy
HTH
Hi Imran how's Stafford Uni?
I think these are the main relevant ones. Enjoy!
* Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 ("RIPA")
* Telecommunications (Lawful Business Practice)(Interception of
Communications) Regulations 2000 ("LBP Regulations")
* Data Protection Act 1998
* Telecommunications (Data Protection and Privacy) Regulations 1999
* Human Rights Act 1998
I think some of these were originally written with corporations in mind, but they may still contain useful information.
Thanks guys the links helped alot, really appreciate this. Fatrabbit staff uni is ok, i needed these laws because im writing a paper for a conference in dublin at the end of this month, wish me luck with this paper.
again thanks guys.
