Hi all

I have cloned my dual boot (Win98 & XP) exam drive to another drive of same capacity. Used Ghost and both partitions cloned no problem. Can see the partitions in the GUI/ Explorer and access them.

When I disconnect my original exam drive and boot with clone it will only boot into Windows 98, hangs up after Windows XP screen and freezes. Tried re-cloning and other things to no avail.

Any help from the experienced would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

Mark-
Have you tried using a different drive? The issue here is that you could be copying onto bad sectors that the original drive did not have, thus creating the problem. Try it on a new drive and get back to us.

1) I assume that you are installing this new cloned drive in the same box from which you created the clone from?

2) Ghost has "image integrity check" feature. Check integrity of the image. Even when it opens in Ghost Explorer fine, it still could have an issue.

3) If 1 and 2 fail, try restoring the image to a different drive.

Thanks for replies, I figured it out. I was first not using the ghost.exe created from the program, rather I was using exe i copied to a floppy.

Second, I wiped the drive clean again, this time did not use FDisk and just cloned exam drive to copy in ghost.exe with floppy start-up.

Disconnceted main "c" exam drive, booted up with cloan, and perfect!

Trial and error works again, also with help from this forum

thanks again

Hi all
Wishing a lots of wishes for you all On the occation of love festival..
Dear friends When we are cloning A drive We must have to check the size & structure of drive for cloning before cloning we must have to check the reg files & If there is any problem wwe aren't sure about that the image will run perfectully .
Otherwise we must have to boot amachine in DOS mode with Anther drive ( CD or flopy or DVD) then main "c" exam drive, booted up with cloan, and perfect!
