Hi all,
Recently, myself and colleagues in our lab, are experiencing issues with Forensic CaseNotes loading up.
The issue is that when the program is executed, it loads up minimised and cannot be maximised. We have tried the following to no avail
- Change screen resolution
- Activate/Deactivate double monitors
- Reinstall CaseNotes after a full deletion (including registry entries)
- Attempt to load up alternative CaseNote saved files
- Windows Restore to a time when it definitely functioned correctly
- Uninstalled .NET framework updates
It would appear that the issue is related to the software's interaction with Windows (7 x64). Might anyone have any ideas on restoring functionality?
Thanks in advance,
VeeSix
Completely random idea 😯 .
Can you try loading it through Nirsoft Nircmd?

IF working, at the most a workaround, NOT a solution.
See here for a reference/similar issue

If it's the same problem I've run into, the workaround is
Open Casenotes as you have been doing. Hover over the icon in the taskbar and you should get a popup with any active windows - there should be one even though it's minimized. You can right-click that and maximize the window from there.
Once you've done that, you can either work full-screen or drag it from the edge of your desktop and resize it how you like.

MedievalRoadie - that worked a treat. Many thanks!
Such a simple solution too…
Off topic but are you referring to the BlackThorn application?
