Using Raptor by Forward Discovery to image a HD from a netbook to a USB HD as a test. The image went fine, but when I try and save the text doc containing the hash, date & time, etc, I can't save it to the USB HD. I get a message that the HD is read only. The USB drive is obviously mounted. I then tried attaching a thumb drive, mounted it as read/write, but still get a message that it is read only. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Use at your own risk, but you can likely use hdparm to remove the write protection from the device.

Interesting anomaly. I have used Raptor numerous times and have never actually "saved" the file. It is created and saved by the program. I just close the window, dismount my volumes, and shut down.

You could take pictures of the pre and post acquisition hashes right?

Regards,
