Hello.
Fist of all, please read this Blog (
TITLE is 'windd.exe - Almost There, But Not Quite …'
This made me so confused. Shawn said in his blog, 'if you have 4GB of ram, that DOESN’T mean you have memory addressable from 0-4GB. In fact, a 4GB machine will have 0-5GB addressable RAM, with a large section of that mapped into other devices that are attached to the bus.' and 'windd is very likely missing over 1GB of actual RAM in my test machine.'
Over 1GB of 'actual RAM'? What is that? and that dose 'a larger section of that mapped into other device that are attached to the bus' means? Test computer has a only 6GB RAM and Windd made a 5.95GB memory dump file. is not ok? As I know All memory aquisition tools that I know ) makes memory dump files that have exactly same size of physical RAM (except pagefile). So I thought if windd make a 5.99GB memory dump file on 6GB RAM, that is normal. But shawn said that I'm wrong.
Please help me to get it.
And if windd sucks (though, Windd is MY FAVORITE memory dump tool!) What else can you recommend for memory aquisition (Except FastDump Pro HAHA! ))
thanks
Before you draw any conclusions

I believe that this hs been discussed, before.
If windd is your favorite tool, why don't you pose your question to the author?
Thanks seanmcl, that's that I wanted! )
Keydet89, That's good idea, But I've got a answer already.
If next time I have a problem with a windd or something I love, I will try to contact the author. thanks keydet89. )
