A while ago i had a computer stop working i was young and didn't know to much i thought the drive died but from what I can tell somehow the MBR was wiped clean. it was an NTFS file system before so there is a back up but I don't know how to get to it. the only way I can see the drive is in the Microsoft Management console with some snap in I forget which one. Im using the newer technology drive reader. and I'm on Windows 7. How can I fix the Drive when it doesnt appear in Windows Explorer. HXD and Winhex dont see it either.
A very good tool for repairing MBR and partitions is testdisk, and if you don`t see it within Windows, try the Linux-version of testdisk

Good Luck Chris
you could enter the windows disk go to repair and recovery manager? and use the command fixmbr i believe and it should fix it.
