Hi All

Does anybody have any info or experience with recovering deleted clips from a Nokia 6600 cell phone?

The clips were not on a removable card but on the main phone itself.

TIA
Samir Datt

I would need to check the specifics on the 6600 but we had a recent rape case where a video phone was used during the offence. Internal mobile phone memory is usually of a volatile nature and does not leave a trace once deleted.

From experience Nokia are very helpful if you contact the technical support in your country and explain the problem.

Let me know if I can help further

Thanks Nick

Our local Nokia says it can't be done because their software does not support it.

I would appreciate any further help, ideas or suggestions.

Thanks
Samir

Hi Samir,

You may be able to retrieve the deleted video clip by removing the flash memory and probing the chip to read off the raw data. May prove challenging, however, it is the only method I am aware of that will retrieve deleted data.

Depending on the usage of the phone since the item was deleted, this area of memory may already be overwritten.

Hope this helps,

Graham

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the tip.

Desoldering Surface Mount Flash could be tricky as I don't have experience on this kind of stuff but I will try and enlist some local help.

Thanks again
Samir
