We are going to be adding some apple Macs to our corporate network. Does anyone know how to perform a remote network search of the file system, similar to going in through c$ share on a windows system?

Thanks

The mac can be set up as a Samba share, an Apple share, or you can ssh into it and run yout tools from the command line.

As Beetle notes, you can use ssh. If you want a GUI tool or have a requirement to search the contents of files, Apple Remote Desktop - http//www.apple.com/remotedesktop - lets you run remote Spotlight searches as well as reporting on application usage and various other remote management tasks.

Greetings,

You could also use F-Secure or the starter Guidance ECC pack to connect to OS X, Linux, and Windows machines. F-Secure would probably be the most cost effective in this case.

I believe kovar is referring to F-Response, not F-Secure.
